Suffolk House

Exterior Pika-Pika Cladding

Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, United Kingdom

Project Overview

The landscape of the county of Suffolk in the United Kingdom is characterised by fields, meadows, ancient woods and forests and captivates with its remarkable beauty. In the center of this county lies the small town of Bury St. Edmunds.

Here, a couple has created a very special home for themselves by renovating a historic barn built of brick many decades ago.

Modern and traditional design elements blend seamlessly together:
The use of our authentic Yakisugi combined with the preservation of the old red roof tiles gives the house its unique charm while paying tribute to the surrounding landscape.

The specific choice fell on our Pika-Pika Yakisugi with one application of natural wood oil, which accentuates both the natural base color and the characteristic contrasting grain.

‘We couldn’t be more delighted with the Pika-Pika wood we purchased from Nakamoto Forestry Europe. From order to delivery from Düsseldorf took just two weeks - much, much quicker than the 12 weeks we were quoted by some British competitors. And it arrived almost to the exact minute we were told it would. What superb efficiency! The quality of our Pika-Pika is outstanding and every visitor to our new home has commented on how beautiful it looks. Well done to the Nakamoto team at Düsseldorf.’
