Bourne Valley House

Exterior Pika-pika Cladding

Kent, United Kingdom

Project Overview

The Bourne Valley property was originally built in 1963 of brick and tile. The house faces south and is situated on the low hills in the county of Kent, south of London, overlooking the Medway river valley and surrounded by orchards and vineyards.

The owners purchased it in 2020 in a poor condition and decided to strip it down to the bare walls to renovate it into a modern 21st century eco house.

So it was clear that the cladding material should also be natural and sustainable. After an extensive search, the owners decided on our Pika-Pika Yakisugi, which on the one hand blends harmoniously into the overall concept with its combination of light base colour and contrasting dark grain, but on the other hand stands out due to its special beauty.
